Last year's match coincided with the 200th anniversary of Waterloo where among others MCC were represented and played Belgium with two Nomads involved. This year coincided with the July 14th Festivities in France which ended in tragedy. However Skipper Stokes was moved to write about another anniversary that of General Kaseem's Coup in 1958 and the murder and mutilation of the Harrow School educated young King.
