Well, we made thirty one in the end at the restaurant and there were three  at the White Lion beforehand who did not attend the dinner. A good turn out. Mind you, we had one 'no show' and one who failed to make it from pub to restaurant. On the final day there were seven drop outs and one drop in. Very Nomadic!

We were a distinguished 14 in the end missing were Ross Ormiston laid low with 'flu, Steve Marians overwhelmed with a rewrite and Bill Johnson lead astray by cocktails in Waitrose!

Nearby, of course, is the battlefield  of Turnham Green where a motley bunch of Londoners some 23,000 strong under the command of the Earls of Essex and Warwick stopped the Royalist advance 13,000 men on London. Not a lot actually happened and under 50 men died


Annapurna a section of the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes 8,091 m (26,545 ft) Annapurna I,the peak over 26,000 feet to be climbed(1950) and another thirteen additional peaks over 7,000 m (22,970 ft) and 16 more over 6,000 m (19,690 ft)^.

Annapurna is a Sanskrit name which literally means "full of food" (feminine form), but is normally translated as Goddess of the Harvests. and  is "... the universal and timeless kitchen-goddess ... the mother who feeds. Without her there is starvation, a universal fear: This makes Annapurna a universal goddess ... Her most popular shrine is located in Kashi on the banks of the river Ganges." Her association with the giving of food (wealth) led her in time to be transformed into  the Goddess of Wealth  Lakshmi

Annapurna Restaurant Chiswick is 44 years old.

Curry West was originally an annual gathering of the Virgin XI and often organized by Ed Scarr.  Many Virgins lived in and around the Hammersmith, Chiswick and Acton area so the Annapurna Restaurant became the feasting place of choice. As Virgin XI was absorbed into Nomads so Curry West has become a regular  Nomads extravaganza.
