T he foul Mid Summer English weather of 2007 followed Nomads to Costa Blanca causing the cancellation of three matches and some disjointure of the tour as a whole which was a pity! Nevertheless we had some enjoyable games in sunshine, some fine dinners and some entertaining nocturnal diversions.

Yvonne took the 'The Strictly Ballroom' award by miles. The Persistant Endeavour award went to Ilija Krunic despite his absence in Albir. Sunny Bowry took both the 'Whim of the Moment' and 'Arbitrary Location'  awards. Neeraj Nayar won the 'Peace and Harmony' award. 'Dreamer on the Field' was jointly shared by David Morley-Clarke and Simon Barter.

We only had one proper fielder and he played only one match, Mark Woolley took that accolade closely followed by Tony Lee who started the  Saturday game subbing for Dileep Trevedi but took five dismissals and, of course, the 'Magic Moment' had to be Neeraj's catch at short mid wicket to remove Stanners on Monday.   Innings of the tour goes to Ranjit Latchman 94* against Mojacor despite not repeating it on Saturday against Sporting Alfas. Most wickets were taken by ever cheerful Chris Page and absolutely 'Prat of the Tour' went to the Monarch representative at Alicante airport -" In real life I am a nice person but here I am the Monarch Gauliter! closely followed by the Chief Stewardess on the  Tuesday flight home who accused Dileep Trevedi -a teetotaler, in particular, and our party, in general, of being drunk and at 10.30am!
