Two tons for Brockers but Montenotte hold out for draw
N omads drew a high scoring contest at North London CC on Thursday. Single barrel 'Brockers' hit 152 retired, his third Nomads century this season and debutant double barrel 'Brockers' hit a century. Nomads declared at 324-3 off 34 overs but despite a magnificent tea failed to bowl the opposition out who finished on 250-7 off 42 overs for whom Duckett hit 120 caught one handed by Mike Plowright running in from long off!. 'The magic moment'
After two outings with Montenotte it has to be observed that their batting is very much stronger than their bowling!
101 boundaries were hit in total which on this small ground, wooded on two sides, resulted in a plethora of ball searching. Remarkably the match ball was retreived successfully on every occassion
A very enjoyable day's cricket was rounded off with some wholesome nosh and beer afterwards.
Nomads were nine on the day.We had 11 on Sunday evening dropped to 7 then back to 10 and finally 9! Montenotte had thirteen so Mike Plowright and Ted Hopkinson made their Nomads debuts, bowling and fielding well..
Although our record is not spectacular we have hit eight centuries already this season!
