Ledger and Kelleher turn game round for KCC

Nomads won the toss and elected to bat on a damp seaming pitch as several players were delayed and in fact two turned up at tea because of delayed flights! Nomads batting struggled and indeed Amit Puri a veru accomplished player got completely bogged down. When Stokes was bowled by Hussain aiming to drive to leg a ball that took off stump Kensington were mighy pleased remebering his blistering ton the year before. The Hon Sec joined Charlton Lamb at 111-7 and these two batted obdurately adding some 40 valuable runs and using up time before Blumberg was trapped lbw by Parthasarathi and with 10 and 11 not ready the innings was closed.

After a good tea Nomads took three quick wickets reducing Kensington to 22-3. However what had been an beast of a pitch with seamers proved more benign with spinners and Chris Ledger and Jamie Kelleher put on 132 runs to give Kensington a fine victory growing in confidence these two punished the Nomads bowling.

Previous Matches
2003 Nomads beat Kensington by 118 runs

Nomads did play Kensington a couple of times in the late 1980s but the scorebooks of both clubs seem to be missing for both those epic encounters!
