Amit Shanker & Shahzeb see Nomads home

This was a match dominated by two major stands. After a bright start with useful contributions from Chris Ledger and Matt Sydall, KCC were 109-3 whereupon Preteender Singh and Pammi Chaggar added 129 runs, at first cautiously, against some accurate bowling from Croom-Johnson and Smithbut then accelerating with a flurry of sixes from Singh. After Singh fell carelessly at 99 caught Smith off a slower Shanker deliverytwowickets fell cheaply to Shanker before Tabby Khan smote two more huge sixes and the innings was declared closed on 263-6 off 44 overs.

Nomads started their chase with a spate of boundaries as Keith Alexander and Andy Peters added a quick 78 before both falling to Hassevally who then bowled the ultimate jug avoidance hat trick ball wide down the leg side. Gabrial Thomas accounted quickly for Peerless and youngster Elbrow reducing Nomads to 88-4. Again very carefully to start with and then with gay abandon at the close Amit Shanker and Shahzeb Mohammed added 177 finishing the match witha huge six and boundary four. We had assumed at this juncture that Amit was stranded on 99 but the scorer then confirmed that in fact he had made 100!
Nomads hitsix sixes against Kensington's nine!

After the match Chris Ledger KCC skipper named Amit Shanker Nomads MOM with a bottle of Black Label Whisky and Nomads Skipper Charlton Lambawarded Preteender Singh with the KCC MOM prize and large bottle of special brew Cobra beer.

Mrs Syddall scored immaculately throughout the match and a good number of Nomads & KCC members repaired to the Barnes Clubhouse for a few hours of intelligent cricket banter!
