Bowlers dominate Proceedings
Chertsey won the toss and elected to bat on what turned out to be avery 'dicey' pitch. Five wickets were down with but 39 on the board and those runs came from opener Ley who could have been caught and bowled first ball.Wickets continued to fall yet Boast at number 6 stuck to the task and compiled 33 useful runs.chertsey had compiled but 102 which seemed to be a total well within Nomads batsmen's prowess to surpass!
Jeremy Lascelles and Jamie Lane fell cheaply and some 14 runs later Victor Kandampully was caught and bowled. Saurabh Wahi joined Ross Ormiston and these compiled useful stand of 35 before Ormistom miscued and was caught by Boast for the game's top score of 35.Ten runs later Wahi was caught and bowled for 20 whereupon the innngs collapsed as a further 4 wickets fell for 2 runs scored including the President run out for a duck! with the aid of some extras the last pair added 6 runs before Oliver Croom-Johnson drove mightily at Jackman but was caught behind by Ley.
Nomads really should have got closer to the target. Nevertheless a good evening afterwards was enjoyed at the bar and Nomads skipper was reported departing very late indeed so hopefully we will be invited back next season.
