 Debutants take Nomads to victory

Nomads were strengthened with the inclusion of one test player and another Indian state player as Tony Matharu wished to emphasise that  his debut with Nomads would have dividends.  Indeed and many thanks.

On a glorious day Pink Elephants won the toss and elected to bat, a precarious decision as they only had four batsmen of any competance. In the event Joe Ireland with 71 and an unbeaten ton from Kershen enabled PEs to declare after 47 overs. However when Ashish was bowling the game to a halt,6-2-8-2.

In reply Nomads' formidable batting line up was pretty careless at times throwing their wickets away so that "I'm not a no 8 batsman" Jemille Al-Darraji did bat and kept Bukta Das company as the 7th wicket put on 62 to win the match. The scorecard reads most oddly.

After the match Tony Mathura hosted a very agreeable session in the wine bar of his local hotel which thus rounded off as good a day as this otherwise chilly season has given us.
