At a Plumbly Lunch at the RAF club in Piccadilly Steve Scowen informed three Nomads-Michael Blumberg,Ranjit Latchman and Tony Whiteway) that he had once taken two hat tricks in the same match against a strong Indian Gymkhana side. Tony Whiteway replied that he remembered him bowling very well in such a match. So Michael Blumberg searched through the scorebooks and found the match. The scorebook in question was not in the best condition. As a result it is certainly possible to confirm one hat trick and that Scowen took three wickets in another over.
Steve Scowen was a superb fast medium bowler and his 7-14 against a strong Indian Gymkhana side in that era was a brilliant spell of bowling.
