Comfortable victory to start UK Season
In a curious match Nomads easily beat Crouch End Calthorpe. Curious in that the home side;s innings was based on a 2nd wickets stand of 94 between Logan and Ahir. Both batsmen should have been out several times and Croom-Johnson's fine spell was worthy of five wickets. Krunik bowled tidily though Wolfie Teser was expensive.
However it was the introduction of debutant Hassan Farooq who destroyed the innings' momentum with four quick wickets and Blumberg cleaned up the tail to the chagrin of grumpy Croomers.
After an excellent tea Nomads were quickly in trouble losing two early wickets. Woolhouse and Gavin added almost 50 runs before Calthope removed them leaving Nomads at 64-4.
Michael Thewlis making a rare but welcome appearance for Nomads now took control and with Hassan Farooq in aggressive form these two added a further 90 runs for victory.
*Much of the CEC innings has had to reconstucted from memory as most of the 'How Out' column was left incomplete
