Nomads bowlers fail the challenge
Nomads won the toss and batted first.Victor Kandanpully and Jemile al Darraji looke to be building a big opening stand when Jemile ran himself out,54-1.Victor carried on powerfully only to be rather casually stumped on 91.There were cameos from Brockers and Ross Ormiston but a swift 32 at the close by joe Ireland enabled to skipper to declare after 47 overs with a respectable 230 on the board.
After an excellent tea Nomads were soon rewarded and Butcher removed chingford skipper Mike blake and Andy smith removed the other opner,21-2. Smith was to have a further success in atidy spell removing the dangerous zeeshan Rehman who sometimes plays midweek for Nomads.Warren and Baldock added 40 more before Chris Royals had warren well caught in the deep by Kandampully,94-4. Young James Bridge was then joined Baldock and these two added 96 with the younger man showing increasing aggression before falling to Chris Royals caught by Butcher.
Baldock had held the Chingford innings together but was either unwilling or unable to up gears and chase down Nomads total. So it was that he finished on 73 not out and Chingford some 23 runs short of victory. Nomads had used four slow bowlers before introducing Jemile for a late burst. This was thus the fourth draw out of a sequence of four played so far.
As is customary Nomads lingered long at the Chingford Bar after the match.
