Nomads win by a whisker
Nomads won an exciting game at Barnes Common on Easter Sunday but it looked as if once again a young centurion would win the match for our opponents. However with the score 169 Croomers clean bowled the big hitting Sanjay Beri and next over on the same score Adnan Kapadia trapped his son Kieroan Beri caught and bowled on 102. Aussie Leperre then took on the task with wickets falling at the other end to Adnan. With Barnes Common homing in on their target and just seven short of victory Soni was run out,198-8. Sajjad Shawl returned to the attack and bowled Leperre and number 10 Lipitch on 199 so Nomads won by a mere 5 runs. Phew!
Earlier Nomads had reached a respectable 204-8 off 35 overs with Omar and Sajjad hitting fifties and Jack Massey a cameo 38.The rest fell going for big shots as overs ran out. Curiouslu Sid Chhibbar a veritable run machine with Kensington CC fell cheaply at the same ground as in October last year.
Both clubs repaired to Barnes Village and sunk a good few ales before returning home.
