Rain the Winner
There was a heavy shower after the start of the Nomads innings and the covers went on but most of the players on both sides thought a resumption inevitable. Tea was taken early but despite the sun coming out later the Richmond groundsman said "No way" and so the game was abandoned which after a long trawl in the field did not make Nomads a happy bunch.
Gooding declared that Maloney needed some bowling coaching and the two duly departed for the nets thus missing an hours' drinking. Nomads left late and without incident.
