Nomads bowlers secure victory on damp day
Despite the appalling weather we were very lucky to play a game at all. Hurlingham skipper and Match Manager Saeed Hatteea insisted we try and so after an early lunch we played a limited over game (37/37) which we won comfortably against an unusually weak Hurlingham side who also lost one player's batting services when he twisted his ankle during his 8th and final over.
Nomads batting had struggled somewhat on the seamer friendly pitch and we lost four wickets all to Seligman who then twisted his ankle.
Robert Wycherley joined James While and these two put on 125 off the last 15 overs to give us a decent total to bowl at. James While hit some powerful boundary blows in his unbeaten 69 and Robert played some excellent cover drives to finish just short of fifty.
The Hurlingham inings never got going after losing early wickets thougth the lower order made some resistance. James While bowled well to take three wickets.Blumberg & Smith took two each bowling slow while Thorns and MacDonald took one a piece as Nomads ran out comfortable winners by 97 runs.
