Albir L'Alfas Del Pi Spain

 A depleted party of Nomads completed an enjoyable visit to Sporting Alfas in March. Nomads won two games very easily but the strong batting line up floundered on Saturday for the 'big' game. On Monday, short of four players who failed to turn up, Nomads  lost a closely contested game in which Katrina and Helen played.

On Saturday March 15th Nomads CC XII 189,39.1 overs(Imran 60,Aslam 36,Mudassar 3-52,Laundon 2-4,Sunderland 2-40,Ufsal 2-8) lost to Sporting Alfas 1st XI 190-1,24.2 overs(Shafiq Ali 105,Pennik 50rh,Faran Usfal 25*) by 10 wickets(12-a-side)

On Sunday March 16th Sporting Alfas Sunday XI 94,33.2 overs(Amin 2-0,Wasim 2-10,Howe 2-12,Aslam 2-18) lost to Nomads CC 96-0,20.3 overs(Barter 66*,Gavin 32*) by 10 wickets

On Monday March 17th Nomads CC 163,34 overs(Latchman 81,Howe 37,Watson 28,Curness 4-42,Braithwaite 2-34,Laundon 2-22) lost to Forty Club Of Spain 167-7,37.1 overs(Ward 34*, Watson 3-45,Barter 2-29,Blumberg 2-46) by 3 wickets

 George Wambeke arranged with Muhamad Shafiqe Ali for 4/5 Valencia  players to join us.This they did for three matches but failed to appear for the fourth without advising us so the girls played and a spectator which sadly effected the match result though the day was very enjoyable. Many thanks for helping us out the first three days and many thanks to Helen,Katrina and Allan.

 Nomads dined well in Albir, Altea and Moreira and the Benidorm freaks continued their love affair with that perversely located north English entertainment centre. Jack Hyams aged 88 played in two matches. A waitress at the King's Food Fandango restaurant/pub considered Jack at least 70 years young!
