Plaxtol Bowling no match for Nomads

Nomads recorded a comprehensive defeat of Plaxtol by 8 wickets with 12.1 overs to go. The basis of this victory was a solid opening stand of 150 by Jim Yorath and David Gower(the Biologist not the Test cricketer) and a powerful innings by young Druv Tahil who flew back from Barbados that morning.  Druv completed matters hitting 26 off 5 balls, one ball of the over remaining

Earlier Plaxtol winning the toss set about Nomads bowling with relish, in particular young Oz, Winkley who completed a century after lunch before being bowled by Blumberg by then well oiled and lubricated by the excellent  Rioja at lunch.

Nick Cowley picked up two early wickets and was unlucky to have Wiinkley dropped. By lunch Nomads had clawled their way back in the match as Schneider and Blumberg took wickets. After lunch with the dismissal of Winkley the game seemed to have swung Nomads way but a fine half century from remodeled slim version Pettit took Plaxtol to a total of 265 off 41.2 overs.

Flushed with this largess of runs Plaxtol declared rather generously as Nomads would have had 50 overs to bat and Plaxtol is a small ground.

Whatever plans Plaxtol had in mind were somewhat ruined when one of their opening bowlers lost all target control and a plethora of wides resulted  giving Nomads an excellent speedy start, 67 off 9 by tea.

Afterwards Yorath went from strength to strength while Gower dug in  and the stand of 150 set up a commanding victory.

Nomads enjoyed an excellent lunch  and scrumptious tea, aided and abetted by real ale and fine wine to say nothing of the stupendous chocolate cake for all of  which we must thank Mrs Taylorson profusely.

As the sun set the last Nomads left Plaxtol, sadly with the barrel of ale not finished.

Both innings ended with a six hit. Our man from The Punjab revealed a new attribute -bowling!
