Barmies smash Nomads

Jeremy Lascelles was rather slow making his 67 facing 103 balls and over keen on keeping the strike which did not impress Jemile and was a pity as we had several fluent if not dashing batsmen in the middle order and two mighty sloggers after them. The Barmies' over rate was none too impressive, 39 overs in 146 minutes so we declared rather generously.

After a gargantuan Tea our opening attack despite removing one opener quickly was despatched rather dismissivley so the skipper brought on Charlton Lamb. He took four wickets all stumped by young Druv Tahil but was expensive. Richard Woolhouse also took a wicket  stumped Druv Tahil but received even more punishment than Charlton which did not amuse Jemile one bit. As a result the Barmies despite losing six wickets reached their target in the 25th over with 8.5 overs to spare.

After the match there was further supping and quaffing on a fine evening at Twickenham Green and still Jemile was unamused declaring that if he had been captain Nomads would have won and so the drinking continued with not a song from the Barmies!
