*A Weekes started the match as wicket keeper but retired from the field injured after an hour whereupon Wycherley took over the gloves and by arrangement with the opposition 12th man Ollie Weekes repleced his father in the team and bowled.

A welcome victory at last

After losing two early wickets to Tom Lascelles and Charlie Weekes Headley pair Sciepp and Cairns put on 110 runs before the innings crumbled to the guile and experience of Lamb and Lane. A useful last wicket stand of 35 was brought to an end by young Ollie Weekes who had started as 12th man.

A productive opening stand of 89 set Nomads en route for victory. Jeremy Lascelles looked certain to make a good fifty when he played on to be out yet again in the 40s.

It is some years since Nomads recorded a victory at the plush  Pennymead Estate and Andy Hill with 98* was the architect of the handsome win. He would have scored a deserved century had not the Hon Sec suddenly come out of his shell and hit two fours, even so had Andy hit a six to win he would have made that elusive figure!
