Tons for Andy Peters & Tom Brockton

Nomads won the toss and batted to good effect. Andy Peters made a very welcome return with an elegantl struck tomn while Brockers continued his good form at the other end. Both retired out ,the opening stand being worth 218. The rest slogged merrily away until tea at 4.30pm whereupon we declaerd at 262.

Nomads had one hour and twenty overs to bowl out Ripley. Andy Smith bowled the Ripley skipper with an off break  whereupon Hawkes & Haddock put on 61 before Brockton took the first of three wickets. Charlton Lamb then took two so that Nomads had a strong  whiff of victory.  However teenager Searle and veteran Cliff then batted to such good effect nothwithstanding the odd unfortunate dropped catch that they had added almost sixty runs by the close.

Andreas Dracoulis on an all too rare appearance took two very good catches.

Nomads drank late at Ripley admiring the fine vista of trees in the distance as well as meeting a somewhat tipsy groundsman who prepares the pitches at Sendholme.
