Too few Runs Too many dropped Catches

Nomads finished the season   disappointingly with two defeats. Inserted at Woldingham on a very damp pitch we contrived to crawl to 47-3 after 20 overs, a third or more of those being extras(thank god !). The second 20 overs produced a more respectable total of 103 runs so we ended on 150,top score young Jaipur Colt Harsh Sharma with 41 and two flurries from Morley-Clarke and Chris Page helped accelerate the scoring  rate.

150 should have been defendable on this pitch but  our  seamers gave away 20 more runs than theirs and for two overs less. Ollie C-J in fact was very unlucky not to take several more wickets including match winner Preston who was turned inside out on several occasions with balls that swung and cut.

The introduction of spin produced several wickets but a series of dropped catches insured Woldingham reached their target with 4.1 overs to spare. Unfortunately the skipper was unaware that the Jaipur colts were much better bowlers than batsmen(and fielders) as we were to see next day. However the match would have been comfortably won if we had held our catches.
