 Rezco stars in vain

On Monday Nomads returned to College Road and contrived to lose to   Streatham &  Marlborough   despite the heroic efforts of John Rezko who hit 90 and took 5 wickets. With 20 runs required veteran centenary skipper Blumberg tamely stroked the ball to very short cover much to the chagrin of the youngster Greg de Ruyter at the other end.”We had 11 overs to go and I could have hit my brother's bowling” Exactly. Sorry Greg..

Helen Cooper came to watch and Vince Gavin on leave from Libya hit some powerful cover drives before sky-ing one. Steve Marians also dropped in.

S & M provided 2 players and Richard Woolhouse secured an 11th man as the game progressed. Richard had an unusual opening over including two wickets and several wides. One was bowled swinging in to the left hander but keeping low.The second hit wicket keeper Russell Mann's gloves onward to Charlton Lamb who took the catch at slip. But this was undoubtedly John Rezko's day!
