Nomads enjoyed a first rate tea at Barnes

Nomads enjoyed themselves at Barnes on a sunny afternoon.Winning the toss Blake and Lascelles made a positive start putting on 67 for first wicket. Shortly afterwards Nomads collapsed around the score 89 before Nathan Lamb and Neeraj Nayar added 74 for the 5th wicket. Nayar continued unbeaten to the end with assistance from Richard Fanthorpe and skipper Charlton Lamb. Nomads decared after 42 overs bowled in 2 hours 35 minutes.

Tom Lascelles started with two wides and a no ball followed by a peach and so Barnes had lost their first wicket at 5. Hampton and skipper Benfield then added 79 at 4 an over before Charlton Lamb had Benfield caught behind.

Fellows-Smith removed Condon but then Kapadia and Hampton added 49 before Kapadia fell precipitating a collapse to 146-7 including top scorer Hampton for 75. Faure's requiem was to contribute some 7 runs in a partnership of 37 with Wigley who grew in confidence to strike a flurry of boundaries to finish the innings with a 6.

However his efforts were in vain as Barnes finished some 12 runs short of target after 39 overs. Honours even.
